Mawcore has carved out a unique space for themselves in the Christian rock landscape, equipped with a modern art-rock sound that pulls from a wide array of influences while drawing from a well of rich spiritual insight. The band is empowered by the message of unbreakable hope, committed to using their electrified hard rock sound to propel that message to every corner of the world.

Over the past ten years, Mawcore has grown an audience through consistent releases that deliver on this mission. They have worked with producers including Jesse Sprinkle, Justin Forshaw, Chris George and Lori Peters-George, as well as displaying dedicated work ethic in self-producing several releases. They have achieved four #1 singles, played major festivals such as Uprise and Lifest and shared the stage with bands like Skillet, August Burns Red, Disciple, Red and Nine Lashes.

With each year, their missional identity only becomes more refined. 

“The main way we have grown over the past couple of years is spiritually,” shares lead singer Joshua. “We have also grown musically, as we have come into a better understanding of who we are and what we are. We have a more defined sense of our identity and where we fit in this vast musical landscape.”

Currently comprised of Joshua (vocals, keys, composition), Jeremy (bass, arranging, graphic design), Ryan (drums), Keelan (guitar) and Osvaldo (guitar), Mawcore’s members all share a mission to inspire their listeners to live victoriously through spirit-driven, fearless rock. They most recently accomplished this through the release of their album War Cry, an aptly titled triumphant collection of songs with a forthright, timeless rock sound. The album spawned the single “Against the Wall,” which offers hope to anyone who might be feeling backed into a corner by personal battles.

Joshua explains, “This song is an extension of the overall album message: God in the impossible. He is our rock, He is our defense, He is our refuge, and He is our wall. When we position or align ourselves with Him, He fights with us and for us. When our back is against Him, He will shield us from each of the punches that the enemy slings at us.”

Messages like that have been empowering fans for a decade, whether they share Mawcore’s deep faith or come from totally different backgrounds of belief. Mawcore can recount stories of listeners who chose to fight for their life and their faith again after hearing their songs.

“One story is of a guy who was recently clean and sober, but still very much struggling with the ability to stay in that path,” Joshua recalls. “After hearing our music, he was encouraged and more empowered to not just have the strength, but also to be brought to others who would walk with him through this journey.”

The band’s music has earned accolades such as four Kindred Award nominations with two wins, plus a Grizzly Award nomination. Their radio reach truly exemplifies their desire to carry the message of Jesus Christ’s saving love across the globe, with stations playing their music in Australia, Ukraine, Brazil, Mexico and Russia.

“As a band, we use our platform of music to help encourage the listeners to take on their world and to overcome the obstacles and hurdles that are trying to keep them feeling defeated,” Joshua says.
